Meet the Team: Simon Vost

You know our uniforms… but do you know the people behind the products at Chef Works International? We’ve had some brilliant new additions to our team this month, and we’re here to tell you a little more about them. Say hello to Simon Vost, one of our new Business Development Managers who looks after the North of the UK.

Describe your job in one sentence:
Developing Chef Works business in the UK, meeting people in the industry, presenting our products and growing our customer base.

What’s the best thing about working in the hospitality industry?
Every day is different. There’s such a wide variety of personalities in a fast-paced service industry, who all work tirelessly to enhance the service experience.

And the worst?
When you’re not able to help a client, which is rare.

Describe a day in your life at Chef Works International:
Working with creative and passionate people all over the North of the UK. Showing great products and eating delicious food (on occasion!)

Favourite item from the Chef Works collection?
The Delancey chef jacket from our Urban Collection. The fabric is amazing and the detailing, sharp.

Favourite restaurant / café / bar?
Albert’s Schloss in Manchester, UK.  It’s a Bavarian-style beer cellar with traditional German food and beers.

Lifelong ambition:
To be successful in everything I do.

Weirdest job you ever had?
Trainee Officer in the Merchant Navy at the age of 17.

Best ever restaurant experience?
Too many to choose from!

What makes you get up in the morning?
My passion to succeed.

Your best achievement at Chef Works?
I’ve only just started, so I am aiming to grow our business and increase awareness of the Chef Works brand in the UK.

And finally, what would you choose as your death row meal?
Scallops followed by Chateaubriand and finished off (the meal, not me) with Sticky Toffee Pudding. All washed down with a fine bottle of Champagne.
